What is heel pain?

Heel pain is one of the most common conditions seen at Bigfoot Podiatry. Heel Pain refers to discomfort or pain that occurs in or around the heel of the foot. It is a common problem that can result from various conditions, and it can range from mild discomfort to severe, debilitating pain. Heel pain often occurs when there is strain or injury to the structures of the foot, such as ligaments, tendons, bones, or nerves. There are a variety of causes of heel pain that may not be due to an underlying disease. Examples include poorly fitting shoes, wearing high heeled shoes, prolonged periods on your feet,  and overuse injuries. Common heel pain conditions include: Plantar Fasciitis, Flat Feet or High Arches, Stress Fractures, Achilles Tendinitis, Calcaneal Bursitis, Haglund’s Deformity, Sever’s Disease, Heel Spurs
